Missing update notification in dashboard

The WP Rocket update notification can take up to 12 hours to appear on the WordPress backend.

If the update notification for WP Rocket does not appear at all, please check the following:

  • Visit the WordPress > Plugins page and add ?rocket_force_update=1 at the end of URL, so it looks like this:

    http://example.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?rocket_force_update=1

Then hit Enter, so the URL gets reloaded with the query string appended.

  • Make sure that your site uses a valid WP Rocket license, and can connect to the WP Rocket servers effectively by following the instructions in this article.
  • If you still don't see the update notification, there are other ways of updating WP Rocket.

Note: Update notifications will only be shown on sites running WordPress 5.0 and higher.

If WP Rocket is disabled

  1. Install and activate the WP Rocket - Update Notification Recovery helper plugin.
  2. This admin notice will appear only if the name of the WP Rocket plugin folder is modified, please click on the Restore folder name button.
  3. If needed, you can click on the Check Available Updates Now button next to WP Rocket in the Plugins list page.
  4. Once the update is complete, you can deactivate and delete the WP Rocket - Update Notification Recovery helper plugin.
