Excluded Files box has entries that cannot be removed

You may notice that some entries are added to the Exclusions boxes on the File Optimization tab and cannot be removed:

These exclusions are being added by the theme or by one of the plugins for compatibility reasons. 

How to find what adds the exclusions

You can find which plugin is adding the exclusions by following these steps:

1. Install and activate the String Locator plugin.
2. Navigate to the WordPress Dashboard → Tools → String Locator
3. Select -- All Plugins -- option for “Search through” and enter one of the exclusions from the text box:



4. If no results are shown, select your theme from the list for “Search through” and run the search again.
5. Check the result to find the plugin that references the string:

We have reports that the following plugin is adding exclusions automatically:
